Milestone Comes on Heels of Double-Digit Revenue Growth, New Business Wins
April 19, 2010 — Chantilly, VA — AMERICAN SYSTEMS is marking the 35th anniversary of its founding by inaugurating the company’s new headquarters in Chantilly, VA. Once move-in is completed, the new headquarters will house approximately 280 AMERICAN SYSTEMS employees.
“These are exciting times at AMERICAN SYSTEMS,” said William C. Hoover, president and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “Over the past few years, we have strived to strengthen the company’s position and reputation as a solutions partner of choice for federal civilian, intelligence and DoD customers facing a variety of challenges.”
The inauguration of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ new 65,000 square foot national headquarters comes on the heels of a successful year. AMERICAN SYSTEMS closed out 2009 with $400 million in new business awards — a record for the company in a single year. The company also experienced double-digit revenue growth in 2009, despite one of the most challenging business climates in decades.
“Since our founding in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS has expanded aggressively, averaging one acquisition every two years over the past decade and aligning our capabilities with key national priority areas — ranging from acquisition & logistics to citizen safety, national security, C4ISR, readiness, energy and health care — to capitalize on growth opportunities within the federal government,” said Peter Smith, executive vice president and COO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “We are looking forward to — and planning on — continued robust growth that will make the next 35 years even more successful than the first”.
Recently, AMERICAN SYSTEMS bolstered its presence in key regions with new offices in Orlando, FL, and Sierra Vista, AZ. The new national headquarters is located at 14151 Park Meadow Drive, Suite 500, Chantilly, VA 20151-2218.
